Trust Broth

Just like crafting the perfect dish, building trust and connection within your team requires the right ingredients and careful preparation.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 hours of one-on-one quality conversations

  • 1 cup of active listening

  • 3 heaping tablespoons of open-ended questions

  • 1 pinch of vulnerability (to taste)

  • Fresh empathy sprigs

INSTRUCTIONS:

Start with quality conversations. Block out the noise (no phones, emails, or Slack messages—think "simmer on low"). Like a chef tasting soup, listen with intention.

Add open-ended questions:

  • "How do you feel about your role right now?"

  • "What do you think would help you succeed?"

  • "What excites you most about this team?"

Sprinkle in vulnerability—share a little about your challenges as a leader. Like salt, it brings out depth in others.

Stir gently with empathy. Respond with care, making sure they feel heard. A simple “That must’ve been hard” is sometimes the exact ingredient needed.

Taste regularly. Trust, like a good broth, builds flavor over time.
